Background of Burma Democratic Institute (BDI)

Democratic Institute (BDI) The Burma Democratic Institute (BDI) was founded on 10 August 2021. BDI is led by 8888 Revolution activists and Gen Z activists in response to the urgent need for democratic transformation, justice, and inclusive peace in Burma. BDI was established as a non-governmental institution committed to promoting democratic values, human rights, and civic empowerment among the people of Burma. BDI envisions a society in which every individual enjoys their rights, lives in a peaceful and inclusive community, and where democratic values flourish, ensuring dignity for all. Guided by this vision, the Institute works toward the establishment of a just, peaceful, and federal democratic Burma. BDI has conducted federalism training for youth.
